JTRE London were delighted to welcome Leader of the Liberal Democrats Ed Davey MP, Councillor Victor Chamberlain, Councillor Rachel Bentley, alongside BBC London and other media, to 220 Blackfriars on Friday to see first-hand the progress on site and the development’s trail-blazing approach to social impact.

In partnership with Southwark Charities, the scheme will deliver Edward Edwards’ House, a new almshouse providing 64 truly affordable homes for older residents in Southwark, alongside a 22-storey Grade A office destination.

Guests were also taken up to the 20th floor to experience panoramic views across the capital and the future workplace environment.

The visit highlighted the role that developments can play in bringing together community partners, political leaders and the media to showcase positive social impact stories alongside high-quality urban regeneration.
